Intended (or declared) major(s):

Describe your interest in a potential career as a middle or high school teacher.  We are interested in what attracts you to teaching, why you think math/science education is important (especially in high needs schools), and any personal background or experiences that you wish to share.*

Proposed Program

Applicants may propose an internship of their own design, or they may request an internship with one of our existing partners. To choose among existing partners, please check out our list of available
internships
.  Applicants are urged to list their top three choices/proposals below

Whether you select an available internship or choose to design your own, in the program description space briefly describe your proposed summer program. An individual program component must be at least two weeks in length, and a Fellow can combine different programs components to come up with a proposed program for the summer that is two to eight weeks in length (some examples: a two-week research program OR a four-week research program and two two-week teaching programs OR a six-week teaching program OR some other combination).

For a research experience, address the following questions as appropriate:

-- what is the program?
-- what is your proposed plan of action?
-- how would this experience fit in with your career goals?
-- how would this experience give you a deeper understanding of how research is conducted?
-- who will be your advisor or mentor, if that is relevant to the experience?

For teaching experience, address the following questions as appropriate:

-- what is the program or activity?
-- what is your proposed plan of action?
-- how will the proposed experience fit into your career goals?
-- how will this experience give you an opportunity to participate in the planning and delivery of instruction?
-- who will be your advisor or mentor, if that is relevant to the experience?
